TABOO: Tattoos

HONEY CHILD SHUT YOUR MOUTH!
{WHY ARE TATTOOS SO TABOO?}

We're going there today buddy, so buckle up! My bloggy friend,Tori,  inspired this post. She feels that people judge her before her mouth even opens because of her tattoos... (If people would give her five minutes before they decided they "knew" her and let her speak they would fall in love with a kind mother and friend.)

WELL THEY DO

Everyone Judges EVERYONE! I don't care who you are or how you say you don't, YOU DO. Whether you're thinking ooohh she's so pretty, I love her dress, or she looks like a five dolla' hooker.
Now, I CAN SAY, I don't judge people from their outward appearance. I "judge" no wait I "VIEW" people on how they treat others, regardless of what they look like .{LIKE MLK JR.}

I have tres tattoos..{THE HORROR!} Ill show them off:

1. A heart on my right foot-right in between the ring toe and pinky toe, its about a half inch. For my Sister.

2. Chinese symbol, means Believer in Christ about an inch in the inside of my right ankle.

3. a Sweet Monkey Girl {personal} She's about two inches tall and two inches wide. She's on the back of my left ankle.

I AM PROUD OF WHO I AM AND I KNOW THAT MY HEAVENLY FATHER'S JUDGEMENT IS THE ONLY ONE THAT MATTERS! WITH ALL OF MY ACTIONS I PRAISE AND GLORIFY HIS NAME TO THE HIGHEST.

Dont misout on friendships because your a stick in the mud!

  1. Today's society is based on judging people. You can't have tattoos, piercings or hair dyed another colour than accepted as red, black, blonde or brown. If you do, you're either mistreated or judged. I've felt it on my own skin. But still, I will get some tattoos no matter what they say. Pure art of expressing yourself. I'm on this girls' side anyway.

P.S. you still didn't answer me about getting my present?

  2. Who cares if one has tattoos, I always think it's just stupid to do that. People judge someone for any kind of reason because they are afraid of not being ok with themselves and have to try and tear down anyone that doesn't fit what they wish they could be. I still get looks for my tanned skin, whatever!! It won't stop me from being me! And people have the right to tattoo and pierce themselves as much as they choose!! Why should anyone care!! There are worst out there, spend time worrying about robbers, rapists, abusers and all those kinds of things and then the world might be a little safer!! People crack me up!! Expression is awesome!! xx

  3. I really enjoyed that post since I feel the same way - it's absolutely stupid to criticize others because of their tattoos, piercings etc. I myself have seven separately made tattoos and I can't say I don't want more in the future :P normal people know that tattoos aren't something creepy or strange. and every tattoo has its special meaning to me :)

  5. AMEN sister!!! very well said, love this post and your tats are too cute ;-)

as for me i see my body as my canvas and my tattoos are MT art work, literally since i am a tattoo artist i have designed all my tattoos myself and they are of great significance to me and are my permanent reminders of certain things. having tattoos, doesn't make me a drug addict or a horrible person of some sort. i am a god fearing women who attends church weekly and is a loving wife and mother ;-)

  6. Hey, thank you for stopping by. Cool tattoos! I hope to get one soon! :)

    Do what makes you happy.

  7. Everybody judges every one else.. whether they admit it or not! It doesn't make sense to judge someone for their tattoos. Its their personal choice to get a tattoo.. but some people just dont understand that.
I love your monkey tattoo.. its so cute! I am planning to get my first one for my birthday this year. But its so hard to decide what to get!

  8. Couldnt agree more! I only have one tat that is easily hidden but I have seen people look down on folks with visible tats and its just insanely stupid.

  9. I love tattoos, I wish people didn't judge

  10. you are so right. tattoos are taboo and really for no reason. whichever way people decide to express themselves should be encouraged. how boring it would be if we were all too alike.

  11. I love that you get sassy in your blog posts, very refreshing and I couldn't agree more!

  12. I'm not a hater when it comes to tattoos at all. In fact, I'm jealous! I would love to have one or two meaningful inks somewhere one me, but I'm way to nervous. Needles scare me and the possiblity of germs skeeve me.

    P.S. Love the monkey! Adorable.

  13. I have always wanted a tattoo but am so wishy washy on what I want that I have never gotten one!

  14. If someone isn't judging on tattoos they will be judging on something else! Just stick with what makes YOU happy so that their judgments don't even matter.

  15. Love your tattoos! I have one on my spine and am thinking about getting another one soon! My family and the people they associate with are nearly fanatically religious and so they judge me harshly even though I am respectful of their beliefs and generally keep it covered. People just need to realize that everyone makes their own choices and that doesn't affect them!

  16. I also have 3 tattoos, two of them are rather large. Luckily all but one of them (the one on my ankle) are covered unless I'm in a bathing suit (none on my arms/chest/face etc).

It's really stupid to judge someone based on some ink they've gotten; I'm hoping our generation is a bit better about that and will know what's up.

I only have one tattoo right now but plan on more!

  18. Agreed. It is easy to judge people but always worth taking a step back and remembering you do not know them...your judgement is probably wrong. I love the heart tattoo. I want one but just plan on waiting until I know what I want. I am now following you :)

  19. I don't judge people for their tattoos, but I do know that I have a low threshold for pain so I will never get one, haha! I'm a big baby. I even cried when I got my ears pierced so I will just leave it with that. =)

  20. I have tattoos too, but I do realize that people may look at me in a different way when they see them. That's just what people do. It's not my priority to change the way they think about them either. Cute monkey!!

  21. tattoos are amazing. I have the same one you have. Plus hope in chinese next to it. I'm getting Love put above it. It is going to be a triangle or Holy Trinity basically. Faith, Hope, and Love. 1 Corinthians 13.

  22. I love your tats! I honestly love tattoos also. I have 2 of them and would like to get more but I am not sure. I feel like it is more of the older population that looks down upon having tattoos. But they are the ones that raised us right? haha

  23. Love this! I have one and not sure I can endure another! OUCH! :-)

  24. I think people are a little more open minded then they were, but we still have alot of close minded people in the world...

With that being said, I love your tattoos! ;0)

  31. i am going to be completely honest and say that i do judge people, but i catch myself each time and i step back, clear my head of the judgments i thought of, and start clean again. i really do try not to judge people anymore because i don't want to be judged either. :)

  33. Most of my younger friends have tatoos and I love those frinds- and you- tats and all!

Please be patient with the older generation. When we were your age, criminals and saliors were the only ones with tats. I'll be totally honest here, when I see one, my stomach does a little flip flop- and not in a good way. My son's whole back is a tat and I can hardly stand to look at it. I try, because I know he loves it but it actually makes me feel faint! So, I'm beyond "judging" but if someone's tat is in a visible place, I might have to look away! Ha-ha! Give me another 10 years and I might even get used to lip piercings!

Thanks for coming by my blog! ♥

  35. Great post and so true! I had a friend who everybody thought dressed inappropriately, but she was one of the sweestest things you could meet. Before I was her friend, I didn't like the way she dress and it might be inappropriatly the way she dressed, but I actually never judged her. At that time I just wasn't looking for a new friend if you could say it like that. 2 years later we became close friends. Now we just grown apart.. But I just really liked your post!

it should only matter what you think .PERIOD

i have two tattoos and i could care less what
people think about them or me.

I got one with my boyfriend and the other one
with my sis. They have such a great meaning
that i do not plan to hide them any time soon

soooo be free and show off your tattoos!

  38. wait till you see my tattoos... haha my whole side is covered and half my back. plus the one on my shoulder. and i'm not even finished. i also have my tongue pierced.

so glad you did this post today because it is so true. when i see someone with tattoos, i see art and beauty. even if i don't understand some of their decisions. to have something inked into your skin forever is gutsy and ballsy. anyone who says otherwise doesn't know what they are talking about.

  40. I love tattoos, I think they are a beautiful art form and way to express yourself. My fiance has a full sleeve and I have one on my foot :) People who don't "understand" them have a specific stereotype in their mind. I think tattoos are great and should be displayed!

  41. haha, love the stick in the mud comment at the end. I don't have any tattoos. Considered it once when I was 19 but never did it.

I tend to judge when I see them on their faces...but that's only because I know why they're on their face. But tattoos have become so normal these days that its gotten to the point, for me, that i'll do a quick scan, think 'gosh that had to hurt' and move on. haha

  42. Ohhh Summer, I can't talk to you now since seeing these! HAHAHAHAHA I think that is so ridiculous! I think I responded to Tory (because I follow her blog) that some straight-laced preppies are killers. You just never know! There's people that pre-judge here in the blogosphere by what you post, how much you weigh, the kind of bag you're sporting, and clothes you're wearing. It's sad!

  45. Just to let you know that I'm Chinese. The word on your ankle is pronounced "xin", which translates to "believe". (I'm not sure who told you that it means "believer in Christ", but the word just translates to "believe".
