Happy Halloween!

I hope everyone had a spooktacular weekend. Please eat lots and lots of candy for me and you. W.O.W is back at it this week so I can't stuff myself full of chocolates and taffy. I'm excited to sit on my front porch and see what kind of little goblins, vampires, and princesses make their way over- to STEAL MY CANDY!

Just Relax

On this particular day, we just chilled. We were still up before the sun, but just enjoyed the sights! We had a couples massage. After it was done my masseuse said that I need to learn to relax and loosen up. Has anyone else ever been told that? I feel like I'm pretty laid back, but I do think that I am kinda "tense"- I have a million things running through my mind. Who doesn't?

Later that night the resort turned into a Mexican City.  There were vendors, food, and a show.

What a wonderful ending to a wonderful day!

XCaret

The first thing we did when we checked in was grab the camera and our swimsuits. Our camera went a little funk on us and decided to get moisture in-between the lens, so we put it up and used the iPhone for most of our excursions.

On this particular day we went to a park called XCaret. I'm not sure how to explain it. It isn't like a theme park where there are rides and such, but it isn't a national park either.. They are preserving the land? Ha, I don't know exactly. There are Mayan ruins inside of it, cenotes ,and underground rivers. There's an inlet from the ocean and you  can snorkel. They have TONS of stuff to do- you need at least two days to TRY and get it all done.
Juicy

It may not look appetizing, but it was MMM MMM GOOD

I loaded up on desserts

YUCK! Every single thing was awful- this is whats left.

The Flying Men

Have I mentioned I'm terrified of sharks! Ekk!

PS- Next Wednesday we'll start our W.O.W again!

Chichen Itza

For our anniversary we went to Mexico. Cancun to be exact. I can't really say it was a chillaxin' vacay because we were up at like 5:45 every single day, but it was a lot of FUN. We went on so many excursions..

Which brings me to our trip to Chichen Itza!

A little history lesson (which is my favorite subject,  I'm kind of a nerd)- Chichen Itza was built by the Maya civilization in the Yucatan Peninsula. The site houses several different structures from the observatory (which is similar to ours today), Temple of the Warriors, and probably the most popular, Kukulkan Pyramid. The Maya people were great astronomers and all of their buildings, even down to the stairs and windows, were lined exactly to different points in the sky! Oh! Did I mention that Kukulkan is now one of the 7 Wonders of the World?

I don't want to bore you guys with all the details, but it's incredible! Just read a little about it and you'll be hooked. Especially during the equinox, and how the pyramid is aligned!

I have TONS of pictures from just this trip! I didn't add most of the structures, but if you're interested I can do another post of more! Just let me know!

Fair

On friday I went to the fair with mi familia. I love everything about the fair- fried food, steal buildings full of vendors, rides, and family! I rode all the "little rides" with my lovely cousin Chloe and my sister,"LaLa", rode with Luke.
