I've always been a believer of "Fake it til you Make it". My 22nd birthday is monday and for the FIRST time I like what I see in the mirror. I've spent too much of my life judging myself through someone else's eyes and trying to be someone else instead of being the BEST ME.
Now when I'm looking in the mirror I don't see flaw after flaw I see a beautiful ME that God spent His precious time molding, creating, and still tweaking.
I have a big scar on my back from heart surgery that I've always been self conscious about but now I see a miracle. A constant reminder of God's love, grace, and to live life with purpose.
"Never be ashamed of scars that life has left you with. A scar means the hurt is over, the wound is closed, you endured the pain and God has healed you."
{found quote on Pinterest}
For any lady {or man} out there, you know this is a big AHA moment in life. I feel an overwhelming sense of peace and patience. I know that God isn't finished with me yet, and we're just getting to the good part.
I'm glad you feel that way. and you sure look pretty :)

ReplyDeleteI also have a large scar on my back, from the top of my neck all the way down to my lower back from spinal surgery. Definitely know what it is like to feel self conscious of it, and then to realize over time what a gift it is. Like you I see it as something beautiful now, not something I need to hide.
You are such a lovely person, inside and out!
